Lehigh Valley Public Media Announces Digital Platform Investment

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA. – WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, 2022 – Lehigh Valley Public Media announced today that it is making a significant investment in the future of local journalism in the Lehigh Valley. The investment will be used to create a digital platform that will expand the organization’s existing portfolio of media assets, which include PBS39 (the Lehigh Valley’s public television station) and 91.3 WLVR (the Lehigh Valley’s all day, every day NPR news station).

“As a public media company, we have the responsibility of ensuring our community has access to the news and information that is important to them,” said Tim Fallon, CEO of Lehigh Valley Public Media. “This platform will ensure that local news and information has a sustainable future in the Lehigh Valley.”

The organization has begun hiring digital content producers, reporters, editors, and specialists. The team will be led by industry veterans Jim Deegan and Jen Rehill, who will both report to Chief Operating Officer Yoni Greenbaum.

“Our research indicates that readers in the region are looking for deeper coverage within their communities,” said Greenbaum. “We’re looking for smart, diverse talent to help us uncover the stories that matter in this dynamic and thriving region.”
